Evaluation Q4

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? Throughout producing my final products i've used 2 different types of software which i found very difficult to master, these 2 softwares being Adobe Photoshop and Adobe inDesign. Before hand i had used Photoshop at home which gave me a better insight when it came to making editing my photos and making my products in general, Whereas i had never used InDesign before so it took a massive learning curve in order to understand it. With photoshop, i learned that photoshop offers alot of different tools i hadn't used in past, one being the quick select and feather option which allows for cutting backgrounds out to be easier and look better around the egdes. Another thinkg i learned abotu Adobe is there are alot of different options when it comes to editing photos to make them look more professional. In past i'd hardly used any of the options which i have screenshotted below. These options came in very handy as it made adding colour corrections to make my background blend with the colour scheme alot easier, but also basic effects like making the background black and white were very useful as you can see in my contents page. Also with photoshop, i had to watch alot of tutorials on Youtube which came in handy when it came to doing more advanced photo manipulation When it came to inDesign, i had never used this software before, at first when i saw the software i was very nervous and didn't understand any of the buttons depsite the add text. It took me alot of practice when it came to using indesign to learn things like objected text warping like on my Double page spread with the text around the hand. Also with indesign, i learned that the 3 column system is very handy when it comes to writing stories as it can make the simplest text look professional, inDesign made it very easy to make a 3 column system as it offers guides in which you can place a text back and if the story is too long, carry it on in another text box. Some drawbacks of both these software i found were the fact they freeze and crash alot, I had to use inDesign on a number of computers due to frequent crashes and problems where it just wouldn't open in general, this delayed the speed of which i could finish my products as i was constantly having to solve software problems. Some online software i used includes Prezi, Prezi is a free interactive software in which people can create a presentation and add things like pictures and animations from slide to slide, this was very useful when it came to explaining things in my previous evaluation questions as i could easily swap from slide to picture to slide in a professional looking manner. Another online software i used was padlet, padlet allowed for me to receive feedback from members of my class and even online if i had shared it, The padlet responses i recieved were crucial when it came to finishing my media products as i received alot of suggestions which i used when it came from making corrections from my draft to final product.
